Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your stay at BASK Gili Meno, operated by PT BASK Gili Meno ("BASK", "we", "us", "our"), and your use of our website, facilities, and services. By booking with us, entering the property, or staying at the resort, you ("you", the "guest") confirm and warrant that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms in full.
1. Reservations & Booking
All reservations are subject to availability and confirmation. A valid credit card is required to secure your booking. By providing your card you authorise BASK to use the same card as pre-authorisation for any goods, services, food and beverage, spa treatments, activities, equipment, and other charges incurred during or after your stay. At our discretion, BASK may also request an additional, optional deposit at or before check-in to cover anticipated on-property expenditure; the deposit will be applied against your final account at check-out and any unused balance refunded to the same card.
The booking adult must be at least 18 years of age and is responsible for all guests on the reservation. Bookings are personal and may not be transferred or resold without our prior written consent. For pricing and service purposes, children are categorised as infants (0–23 months), children (2–11 years), and adults (12 years and above). Cots, extra beds, and connecting-villa configurations are subject to availability and will incur a charge. Stays of 30 nights or more are subject to a separate written agreement that may modify these Terms. Walk-in or same-day bookings are accepted at our discretion and at the rates and terms current at the time of arrival.
2. Pricing, Taxes & Service Charge
All rates are quoted in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) unless otherwise indicated. Unless explicitly stated as inclusive, prices are subject to the prevailing government tax (PPN, currently 11%) and service charge (10%). BASK does not surcharge guests for credit-card processing. Where the guest's payment card is denominated in a currency other than IDR, any foreign-currency conversion, dynamic-currency-conversion, or international- transaction fees levied by the cardholder's own bank are the responsibility of the guest. We reserve the right to correct typographical or tariff errors at any time prior to confirmation.
3. Payment, Deposits & Late Payment
Deposit and full-payment requirements vary by season and rate type and will be specified in your booking confirmation. By providing your card details you authorise BASK to charge your card for the deposit, the balance on the due date, and any additional charges incurred during or after your stay. Outstanding balances accrue interest at 1% per month (or the maximum rate permitted by Indonesian law, if lower) from the due date. We reserve the right to suspend on-property services while a balance is unpaid and to recover unpaid amounts, including legitimate chargeback responses, collection costs, and reasonable legal fees, from the guest's payment method.
4. Cancellations, No-Shows & Modifications
Cancellation, no-show, and modification charges are set out in our Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Different policies apply in standard, high, and peak / festive seasons. A no-show is treated as a cancellation on the scheduled arrival date and is charged accordingly. Date changes within a non-refundable window are treated as a cancellation followed by a new booking.
5. OTA & Travel-Agent Bookings
Reservations made through any online travel agent (OTA) or any other intermediary, including traditional travel agents and tour operators, are subject to the cancellation, payment, and modification policies of that intermediary, which may differ from BASK's published policies. The on-property terms in this document continue to apply to your conduct, use of facilities, and indemnities while at the resort. We may require you to confirm at arrival that the booking and payment via the intermediary is in good standing.
6. Check-in, Identification & Right of Admission
Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out may be arranged subject to availability and may incur additional charges. Indonesian law requires us to register all guests on arrival and to report foreign-guest particulars to local authorities within 24 hours; you must present a valid passport (and visa where applicable). It is your responsibility to ensure your visa, immigration, and travel documents are valid and in order. We reserve the right to refuse accommodation where they are not.
We further reserve the right to refuse admission or check-in to any individual who, in our reasonable judgement: (a) cannot satisfactorily prove identity or age; (b) attempts to bring more guests than the booked occupancy; (c) appears intoxicated, disorderly, or threatening at the point of arrival; (d) has previously been removed from BASK or an associated property; or (e) has acted abusively toward staff in pre-arrival communications. Where admission is refused at the point of arrival, the booking will be treated as a same-day cancellation under our Cancellation Policy.
7. Maximum Occupancy & Visitors
Each villa has a maximum permitted occupancy stated at the time of booking. The number of overnight guests must not exceed that limit. Day visitors must be registered with reception on arrival; BASK reserves the right to refuse entry, charge a visitor fee, or remove unregistered visitors at any time for security and capacity reasons.
8. Overbooking & Right to Relocate
In rare circumstances, including overbooking or a villa becoming uninhabitable due to maintenance, storm damage, or other events outside our control, BASK may need to relocate a guest to an alternative villa of equivalent or higher category, either at BASK or at a comparable property nearby, at our cost. We will endeavour to give as much notice as possible. Relocation does not entitle the guest to a refund or further compensation beyond reasonable equivalent accommodation.
9. Guest Responsibility & Indemnity
The booking adult, the named occupier of the villa, is fully responsible for all liabilities arising from any person staying in the villa or invited by them onto the property. This responsibility is total and includes, without limitation, all charges incurred, property damage, loss, theft, personal injury, breach of these Terms, and the conduct and behaviour of every such person, whether registered on the booking or not.
The guest further agrees to fully indemnify and hold harmless PT BASK Gili Meno, its owners, directors, employees, staff, affiliates, related companies, parent and subsidiary entities, partners, agents, and contractors, against any claim, damage, liability, cost, or injury, whether direct or indirect, that arises from their own conduct or the conduct of any guest of theirs staying with or invited by them.
10. Use of Facilities
BASK's facilities are provided for your enjoyment and must be used in a safe, respectful, and responsible manner. For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, children under 12 years of age are kindly asked not to use the Beach Club Pool after 12:00 PM daily. Each villa includes a private pool, which we encourage families with children to use. Parents and legal guardians remain solely responsible for the supervision, safety, conduct, and behaviour of their children and any minors in their party at all times, including in connection with the use of pools, the beach, equipment, restaurants, and any other facility on the property.
11. Assumption of Risk & Release (Activities, Pool, Ocean & On-Property Use)
Use of swimming pools, beach access, snorkelling, diving, boating, kayaking, paddle-boarding, jet-ski, surfing, fishing, cycling, walking on the property, hiking, and any other recreational, sporting, or leisure activity at or arranged through BASK is at the guest's own risk. The guest acknowledges and accepts that these activities, the marine and tropical environment of Gili Meno, and the remote-island setting carry inherent risks that cannot be fully eliminated, including but not limited to injury, illness, drowning, decompression sickness, allergic reaction, exposure, hypothermia, and the risk of death.
Conditions, including currents, tides, marine life, jellyfish, sea-urchins, sun exposure, weather, terrain, and equipment wear, may change rapidly and without warning. The guest is solely responsible for assessing their own physical condition, ability, and qualifications (including diving certification where relevant) before participating in any activity, and for the supervision of children and dependents at all times.
To the fullest extent permitted by Indonesian law, the guest voluntarily and knowingly assumes all risks associated with their stay and any activity, and releases, waives, and discharges PT BASK Gili Meno, its owners, directors, staff, contractors, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, actions, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, or expenses, including for personal injury, illness, property loss, or death, arising from or in any way connected with the guest's stay, presence on the property, or participation in any activity, save for liability that cannot be excluded by law (see Section 36).
Where BASK arranges, facilitates, or provides equipment for an activity, the guest may be required to sign a separate participation waiver setting out the activity's specific risks and any qualifications required. The release in this Section applies in addition to, and is not limited by, any such separate waiver.
The guest agrees to ensure that all members of their party, including invited guests and children, are made aware of and accept the risks set out in this Section before using facilities or participating in any activity.
12. No Lifeguard & Supervision of Children
Please note: there is no lifeguard on duty. Guests are entirely responsible for the supervision of children, including when using any swimming pools or entering the ocean. You agree to indemnify BASK against any claim related to the above.
13. Wildlife & Natural Environment
Gili Meno is a small tropical island with a rich natural environment. Wildlife including monitor lizards, geckos, spiders, snakes, marine turtles, jellyfish, and various insects is present on and around the property. Mosquito-borne illnesses, including dengue, are a known risk in Indonesia. Guests must not feed, handle, or disturb wildlife; agree that BASK is not liable for injury, illness, or property damage arising from wildlife encounters or insect-borne illness; are responsible for their own use of insect repellent, appropriate clothing, and any prophylactic medication on the advice of a physician; and agree not to remove, damage, or take coral, marine life, or natural materials from beaches and reefs.
14. Smoking
All villas, indoor public areas, and food-service areas are strictly non-smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaporisers. Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas. A cleaning and reinstatement fee of IDR 2,500,000 (or local equivalent) will be charged if smoking is detected inside a villa. Tampering with smoke detectors carries the same fee.
15. Drugs, Zero Tolerance
The possession, consumption, sale, or trafficking of any illegal drug or controlled substance is strictly prohibited at BASK and on Gili Meno. Indonesia maintains some of the world's most severe drug laws, including custodial and capital sentences for trafficking. BASK operates a zero-tolerance policy. Where staff have reasonable grounds to suspect drug activity, BASK reserves the right to (a) deny entry or terminate the stay without refund, (b) cooperate fully with Indonesian law-enforcement authorities, and (c) charge any costs reasonably incurred to the guest's account. By staying with us you acknowledge this policy.
16. Alcohol Service
Alcohol is served in accordance with Indonesian law. The legal age to purchase alcohol in Indonesia is 21 years; valid photo identification may be required. BASK staff may refuse alcohol service to any guest who, in their reasonable judgement, is intoxicated, disorderly, or whose continued service would pose a risk to the guest, other guests, or staff. BASK is not liable for injury or loss caused by a guest's voluntary consumption of alcohol.
17. Gambling & Commercial Sexual Services
Gambling and commercial sexual services are illegal in Indonesia and are strictly prohibited at BASK. Any breach will result in immediate termination of the stay without refund and, where appropriate, referral to the authorities.
18. Outside Food & Drink
Outside food and beverage may not be brought into BASK's restaurants, bars, or public food-service areas. Our team will accommodate dietary restrictions and special requests where reasonably possible. For private events held at the resort, external catering, alcohol, or supplier services require prior written consent and may be subject to a corkage or service charge.
19. Cultural Respect in Local Villages
Gili Meno has a predominantly Muslim local community in the villages outside the resort. When visiting the local villages on the island, guests are asked to dress modestly and to be considerate of local customs and religious observance, particularly during Ramadan, Eid, and other observed periods. These expectations apply only to guests visiting the local villages and do not restrict relaxed beach-resort attire within the BASK property.
20. Quiet Hours & Behaviour
Out of respect for other guests, quiet hours are observed throughout the resort between 11:00 PM and 8:00 AM. The sole exception is Rosalee, BASK's late-night bar within the resort, which operates beyond quiet hours and may continue ambient music and service into the night. Loud music, excessive noise, or disruptive behaviour at any time may result in a warning and, in serious or repeated cases, termination of accommodation under Section 35.
21. Pets
Pets are not permitted at BASK, with the exception of certified service animals where required by law and notified to us in advance.
22. Drone & Aerial Equipment
Use of drones, aerial cameras, or remotely piloted devices on or over BASK property requires prior written permission and compliance with Indonesian aviation and privacy regulations. Drone use that disturbs other guests, wildlife, or marine life is not permitted.
23. Damage to Property & Inventory Charges
The guest is responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of BASK property caused by them or any person staying with or invited by them. We reserve the right to assess damages and charge the guest's payment card for the cost of repair, replacement, deep-cleaning, or loss of revenue while a villa is out of service. Examples of additional charges include, but are not limited to: lost room key or safe-code reset, broken or missing inventory, deep-cleaning beyond standard turnover (for example bodily fluids, excessive sand, or candle wax), and any cost arising from a fire-detection or sprinkler activation caused by the guest. We will use reasonable endeavours to provide an itemised account on request.
24. Personal Property, Valuables & Lost Property
BASK is not liable for loss, damage, or theft of any personal property left in the villa, on or around private terraces, decking, plunge pools, gardens, sun loungers, day beds, on the beach, in restaurants, in public pools, or anywhere else on the property. An in-villa safe is provided and we strongly recommend you store valuables, passports, and electronics inside it whenever they are not in use. Items found after departure will be held for 30 days and may be returned at the guest's expense; unclaimed items after 30 days may be donated or disposed of at our discretion. To report a lost item, please email info@baskgilimeno.com within the 30-day window.
25. CCTV & Security
For the safety and security of guests and staff, closed-circuit television (CCTV) operates in public and back-of-house areas of the resort. CCTV is not deployed in villas, bathrooms, or changing areas. Recordings are retained for a limited period and accessed only by authorised staff or law-enforcement authorities where required.
26. Wi-Fi, Utilities, Island Conditions & Service Interruption
Wi-Fi, electricity, and water on Gili Meno are provided on a best-efforts basis. Outages, fluctuations, or reduced speeds may occur due to local infrastructure, weather, or factors outside our reasonable control. We may also need to interrupt or modify services for planned maintenance or safety inspection, for example, scheduled draining of pools, generator servicing, or works carried out by neighbouring properties, and will give reasonable notice where possible. While we work to maintain service at all times, BASK does not guarantee uninterrupted connectivity or supply, and is not liable for incidental loss arising from short-term interruptions of this nature.
27. Health, Medical & Travel Insurance
Gili Meno is a remote island with limited on-site medical facilities. We strongly recommend that all guests hold comprehensive travel and medical insurance, including cover for evacuation by speedboat or helicopter. Guests with relevant medical conditions, including pregnancy, heart conditions, or recent surgery, should consult their physician before booking and notify us in advance of any limitations that may affect transfers, water activities, or use of facilities. BASK is not a medical provider and will assist guests to access third-party medical or evacuation services at the guest's cost.
28. Boat Transfers, Weather & Force Majeure
Sea conditions in the Gili Islands can change rapidly. Boat transfers, including those arranged by BASK or by independent third-party operators, may be delayed, rescheduled, or cancelled at short notice for safety reasons. BASK is not liable for missed onward connections, additional accommodation or transport costs, or other consequential losses arising from such delays.
Neither party will be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations to the extent caused by an event beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, earthquake, tsunami, volcanic activity, severe weather, fire, flood, pandemic or epidemic, government action, border or visa-on-arrival closure, civil unrest, terrorism, war or armed conflict (whether declared or undeclared, international or domestic), hostilities, sanctions or trade restrictions, cyber-attack, airspace closure, diversion or suspension of commercial aviation, airline insolvency or cancellation of routes, the issuance of a "do not travel" or equivalent advisory by the guest's national government or by Indonesian authorities, or failure of public utilities or telecommunications (each a "Force Majeure Event").
For the avoidance of doubt, war, armed conflict, hostilities, or any related travel consequence is treated as a Force Majeure Event under this Section. This includes, without limitation, the inability of a guest to reach Indonesia or Gili Meno because of cancelled, rescheduled, or re-routed international flights; airspace closure over an origin, transit, or third country; airline route suspension or insolvency; refusal of boarding or denial of entry by any authority; insurance, sanctions, or banking restrictions triggered by the conflict; and any government advisory or travel ban issued in connection with the conflict, whether by the guest's own government, the Indonesian government, or any other authority on the route.
In a Force Majeure Event, BASK will use reasonable endeavours to offer the guest the choice of (a) rescheduling the booking to alternative dates within twelve (12) months of the original arrival date, subject to availability and any rate difference, or (b) a resort credit for the value of payments made, valid twelve (12) months from the original arrival date. Cash refunds, where given at our sole discretion or where required by law, will be net of any non-recoverable costs already paid to third-party suppliers (including but not limited to inbound transfer operators, helicopter charters, and event vendors).
29. Equipment & Additional Services
During your stay, BASK may provide additional services and/or items such as snorkeling equipment, bicycles, or other recreational facilities. Where applicable, you will be required to sign a separate loan or services agreement prior to use, outlining the terms, conditions, and responsibilities related to that equipment or service.
30. In-Villa Amenities & Consumables
Each room within a villa is supplied daily with four (4) complimentary 300 ml bottles of drinking water per room. For multi-room villas, the complimentary allowance scales with the number of bedrooms (for example, a three-bedroom villa receives twelve bottles per day). Any additional bottled water, mini-bar items, or other consumables provided in or to the villa are chargeable to the guest's account at the rates displayed in the in-villa compendium or on the menu. Replacement of in-villa amenities consumed beyond the complimentary allowance is not included in the room rate.
31. Third-Party Operators & Practitioners
To assist in enhancing your experience, BASK staff may, at your request and with your agreement, help coordinate or facilitate services provided by independent third-party operators. These services may include, but are not limited to, diving tours, fishing trips, boat transfers, helicopter transfers, babysitting and kids' programs, in-villa childcare, spa therapists, dive instructors, or other off-site experiences. You acknowledge that these services are not operated or controlled by BASK; the relevant operator is an independent party responsible for its own conduct, qualifications, and insurance. Your participation is entirely at your own discretion and risk. By participating in any third-party service, you agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless PT BASK Gili Meno from any and all claims, liabilities, accidents, losses, injuries, or damages arising from or in connection with such services.
32. Photography & Marketing
Photography and videography are sometimes conducted at BASK for marketing and editorial purposes. By entering public areas of the resort, you acknowledge that you may appear, in passing, in such material. We do not knowingly use identifiable images of guests in marketing without consent; if you would prefer not to be photographed, please notify reception on arrival or email privacy@baskgilimeno.com and we will remove or anonymise the relevant material.
33. Reviews & Social Media
We welcome honest feedback and reviews. Defamatory, knowingly false, or threatening content posted online or in person is not protected by these Terms; BASK reserves all available legal remedies, including under Indonesian Law No. 11 of 2008 on Electronic Information and Transactions (as amended). Where you tag BASK in a public post on social media, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to repost or share that content with attribution; you may withdraw this licence at any time by removing the tag or contacting privacy@baskgilimeno.com.
34. Website Acceptable Use
Use of baskgilimeno.com is for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You must not (a) scrape, copy, or systematically harvest content; (b) frame, mirror, or rehost the site or any part of it; (c) attempt to access non-public areas, accounts, or systems; (d) introduce malicious code; or (e) use the site or any communication channel (including the chat widget or contact form) to send unsolicited marketing, abusive content, or spam. We may block access from any IP address or account that breaches this clause and pursue any other available remedy.
35. Termination & Eviction
BASK reserves the right to immediately terminate accommodation or refuse service to any guest who:
- engages in illegal activity (including the matters in Sections 15 and 17);
- refuses to pay outstanding charges;
- behaves in a manner that is disruptive, threatening, abusive, or damaging to the property or other guests; or
- breaches any other material clause of these Terms after a reasonable opportunity to remedy.
Such termination will be at the sole discretion of BASK Management and may result in eviction without refund.
36. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BASK's total aggregate liability to any guest, in contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or otherwise, in connection with a stay, service, equipment, or use of facilities, is limited to the total amount paid by that guest for the relevant booking.
BASK is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential loss, including loss of enjoyment, loss of profit, or loss of onward travel arrangements. BASK is not liable for personal injury, illness, accident, or death arising from causes outside its direct operational control, including but not limited to: the guest's own acts or omissions, the acts or omissions of third-party operators (Section 31), pre-existing medical conditions, force majeure events (Section 28), or the inherent risks set out in Sections 11 and 13.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by BASK's own proven gross negligence, fraud, or willful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot, under Indonesian law, be limited or excluded by contract. The guest acknowledges that this residual liability is the maximum protection the law provides, and undertakes the responsibility for travel and medical insurance set out in Section 27 to cover all other risks.
37. Special Events, Group Bookings & Weddings
Weddings, private events, and group bookings of multiple villas are subject to a separate written agreement that supersedes the standard Terms in respect of pricing, cancellation, deposits, and event-specific conditions. Please contact info@baskgilimeno.com for details.
38. Privacy & Data
Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
39. Amendments to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the date of your booking confirmation governs that booking. Material amendments will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
40. Severability, Entire Agreement, Waiver, Assignment & Headings
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. These Terms, together with your booking confirmation, the Cancellation Policy, and the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and BASK in relation to your stay and supersede any prior arrangement, representation, or understanding. A failure or delay by BASK to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our rights. Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign our rights and obligations to a successor entity upon notice.
41. Notices
Any legal notice from a guest to BASK must be given in writing to PT BASK Gili Meno, Jl. Gili Meno, Gili Indah, Lombok Utara, NTB 83352, Indonesia, with a copy by email to info@baskgilimeno.com. Notices from BASK to a guest may be sent to the email address or postal address provided at the time of booking.
42. Language
These Terms are issued in the English language. Where a translation into another language is provided for convenience, the English version will prevail in the event of any discrepancy.
43. Dispute Resolution & Class-Action Waiver
The parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms by good-faith informal negotiation, initiated by written notice. If the dispute is not resolved within thirty (30) days, either party may refer the matter to mediation administered by the Indonesian National Mediation Center or another mutually agreed mediator. If mediation fails or is declined, the dispute will be finally resolved before the competent courts of the Republic of Indonesia (see Section 44).
You agree that any claim under these Terms must be brought in your individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and BASK each waive the right to participate in such proceedings.
44. Governing Law
This agreement is governed exclusively by, and shall be construed in accordance with, the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, with the express exclusion of the laws, regulations, and conflict-of-laws principles of any other country, state, or jurisdiction. The parties expressly waive the application of any foreign law, treaty, or convention that would otherwise apply by virtue of the guest's nationality, place of residence, or place of booking. Subject to Section 43, any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Republic of Indonesia, and the parties expressly exclude the jurisdiction of any other forum.
45. Acknowledgment & Warranty
By making a booking, completing a check-in registration, or otherwise using BASK's facilities or services, you acknowledge and warrant that you have read these Terms in full, understand them, have had a reasonable opportunity to seek independent advice if you wished to, and agree to be legally bound by them. Where you book on behalf of other guests, including children, you further warrant that you have the authority to accept these Terms on their behalf and that you will bring the substance of these Terms to their attention.
